About Dr. Tuan Vu
My name is Dr. Tuan A. Vu. I was born in Vietnam and came to the United States when I was six. Growing up I enjoyed cooking, drawing, sports, and fishing. While in high school, I realized that my true calling is working in a profession that will allow me to help others.
I attended Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and continued at the Medical College of Virginia to graduate with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After graduation, I spent the next six years working in private practice as an associate dentist in Loudoun and Prince William County. During my free time I enjoy volunteering at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic located in Falls Church and Sterling, VA.
As an adjunct assistant professor for the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry and the Medical College of Virginia, I have been involved with teaching and helping third and fourth year dental students during their clinical externship at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic. Teaching has provided me with a great opportunity to share my love of dentistry with others and also it has given me a chance to give back to my profession. I have attained a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. As a Fellow, I have been involved with dental missions and volunteering opportunities such as Operation Smile, Give Kids A Smile, Mission of Mercy, and talking to elementary students about dental health care.
During our free time, my wife, Huyen and I enjoy traveling, cooking, eating, bike riding, fishing, and being beach bums.

My name is Maggie Hilares. I’m originally from Peru and have lived here in the US for more than 20 years.
I’ve worked as a dental assistant for over 8 years and feel blessed not only for having the opportunity to do what I like the most (which is dentistry), but also for the opportunity to be part of an amazing team that is professional and patient-focused.
My hobbies include cooking, long walks with my dog, Levi, and yoga. In my free time I enjoy spending time cooking or eating out with my family.

My name is Julie Sell. I have been known to be identified as “The Office Goddess,” primarily by myself. I have been working in the field of dentistry for approximately ten years as an office manager in the Potomac Falls/Sterling area. I have been an Ashburn resident for 17 years. Prior to my work in the dental field I was working in the field of early childhood education. Leaving the corporate world, I became an co-owner of three local child care centers. I have always worked in service based industries where I believe I can have a material impact on the quality and service provided to the people I serve. My hobbies include reading, gardening, making jewelry, cooking (I mean eating), traveling back and forth to Minnesota to visit my parents, shopping, and of course spending hours and hours talking to insurance companies. To me it is very important to work with a dentist who puts the patient’s needs first, where high quality workmanship and quality care is valued and expected, and excellent customer service is given. I enjoy working in a relaxed, home-like atmosphere where we can put patients at ease. The name of our practice is not contrived—we consider our patients “friends” and part of our “dental family” and treat them as such. Prior to opening my Ashburn, VA practice, I was an adjunct assistant professor at the UNC Dental School and Virginia Medical College. Additionally, I have extensive experience teaching Northern VA Dental Clinic externship students. (
